Currently there are limited options available for transferring your UK Pension benefits to Australia.

A number of changes were made to UK pension legislation in 2015. These changes had a significant impact on the transfer of your UK pension entitlements to Australia.

New UK pension regulations came into effect on 6 April 2015 as part of the ‘Freedom & Choice in Pensions’ legislation.

The main change is that you will only need 30 years in which to qualify for a full basic state pension – rather than 44 years which was previously the case.
